Jerome Stover, Tuba

Jerome Stover was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, USA and holds degrees in music from Indiana, DePaul, Yale, and Boston Universities. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Tuba at Sam Houston State University. Dr. Stover is very active as a teacher and clinician in the Houston area, and has previously taught at the University of Hawaii, Rochester College, and the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Dr. Stover has performed with the Chicago, Boston, Houston, Detroit, Oregon, Jacksonville, Alabama, New Mexico, Korean Broadcasting System, and New World Symphonies. He also held the post of interim principal tubist of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, he has been featured with the Honolulu Symphony, the Yale University and University of New Mexico Schools of Music, and the International Tuba and Euphonium Association. He can be heard on recordings with the Chicago and Honolulu Symphonies, as well as the DePaul Wind Ensemble.

Dr. Stover has been a principal musician of the Tanglewood Music Center, Cascades Music Festival, Sun River Music Festival, and has also performed at the Glimmerglass Opera Festival. Dr. Stover has performed throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and South Africa.
